The Hattiesburg Fire Department is a multi-faceted department consisting of service delivery for fire suppression, fire prevention, training and Haz-Mat. The department consists of eight stations with 132 personnel. The officers are involved in many community projects such as Project Safe Place. The current public fire protection rating for the city is Class 4.
